“This is Captain McKinney speaking. Glad you could be with us here today, another fine day in Tillyville, perfect weather as usual, seventy-three degrees and a bright blue sky. We have the usual southeasterly breeze of six miles per hour on the ground, but in a moment we’ll be reaching our cruising altitude of 297 feet where the wind is a steady twenty-six.

If you look out to your left you’ll see the Tillyville golf course where that strange whatchacallit thing, the Hm, crashed down a while back. You’ll want to pick up a copy of the Tillyville Times at the newsstand to get the full scoop. While you’re in town, don’t miss the diner. Some hot tunes on their jukebox. Or check out the tricks in the magic shop right next door.

“Okay, just ahead of us is the ball field where the Wed Rings play. And off to the right is Lookout Mountain. Good skiing there all year round!  Yup, Tillyville is THE place, but I know, I know, you want to get to the big city, the glitz, the glamour, the seats of gold. You can see it off in the distance, and if this breeze keeps up, we’ll have you there in just a few minutes, so sit back and enjoy the ride!”

“Um, excuse me, Captain. I have a question. I have a round trip ticket, but if the wind is always out of the southeast, how do I return to Tillyville?”

“Easy. Just push the back button.”

Captain McKinney is right: Tillyville is the place. Be sure to come back often. Better yet, become a citizen. It’s free, and you’ll get a brand new stories by email three times a week. Subscribe!
